Puerto Rican Bomba Dance Classes: DC Metro

In this class series, participants will move, sweat, and connect while learning bomba rhythms, basic steps, piquetes, regional styles, and historical context.

✨ New this year:
This series will culminate in a student showcase alongside our youth and percussion students, offering an opportunity to share what we’ve learned in an intergenerational community performance.

Each class builds upon the previous one as we explore multiple rhythms and deepen our relationship to the dance, the drum, and the communal space of Bomba.

Includes: yubá, holandé and seis corrido and rehearsals

• 10 y/o and older welcome
• No prior experience required

• $140 full series (5 classes + showcase participation)

💻 Virtual option available via Zoom

• Skirts are not required, they will be available for in-person participants
• You are welcome to bring your own long, full-circle skirt

• Space is limited
